Where the Wheatlands Meet the Range

Claresholm can be found where the prairies roll gently into the Porcupine Hills of the Rocky Mountains. The history of this community is deeply rooted in Cowboy tradition, farming and ranching. Pioneers looking for opportunity in a new country began settling in this fertile prairie region in 1902.

The Old West is still alive in Claresholm, from its museums, arts and culture to – of course – its down-home hospitality. Visitors to Claresholm are likely to see cowboys out herding cattle, families working the ranch together or out for a horseback ride. They can also see some of the prettiest country in Alberta, whether by horseback, foot or car.
